What does ARUN do?

ARUN is an independent private company that bridges the developing countries and Japan through Social Investment. We invest in the social entrepreneurs of developing countries based on the fund capitalized by Japanese individual investors and firms.

The investees of ARUN are the social entrepreneurs who tackle an enormous task of reducing poverty in their own countries. They work to solve the problems of the poor through the self-reliant business without depending on the conventional aid and to bring about the spontaneous changes in their society. ARUN has developed its own rich local-network. Through the network, we explore and discover potential investees and business leaders and select the promising investees in accordance with the social and financial standards.

ARUN provides loan to the investees based on their financial needs. We will also provide managerial and technical support that fits to the stage and the type of the enterprises in order to increase the investment value of the enterprises.Information is provided online to the investors. In addition to that, the opportunities to meet the entrepreneurs in person through study tours will be offered to all the investors. It will make the investors possible to have personal contact with the selected entrepreneurs and to understand the strong will of the entrepreneurs to change and develop the society of their own efforts.  The investors can also contribute their professional skills to ARUN’s activities and office operation, which will lead the investors to take part in building a new mechanism of Social Investment - that truly gives an impact to our society.

ARUN means dawn in Khmer. It represents hope and energy to make a new society.

Arun logo embodies dawn. The dynamic form of "A" depicts new energy. The curve between A and R shows an image of a sun which is to  rise. The color is the color of the sky just before sunrise.
